Development of Energy-Saving Technologies for Wire and Cable Equipment

Against the background of increasingly tight energy resources, the energy-saving technologies of wire and cable equipment are developing rapidly.

Adopting new energy-saving motors is one of the important measures for energy saving. For example, the application of permanent magnet synchronous motors in wire and cable equipment is gradually becoming widespread. The principle is to use permanent magnets to generate magnetic fields, which interact with the rotating magnetic fields generated by the stator windings to achieve efficient energy conversion. Compared with traditional asynchronous motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors have higher power factors and efficiencies, and can save energy by about 15% – 20%. In terms of equipment operation energy consumption management systems, intelligent control systems are used to monitor equipment energy consumption in real time. For example, Schneider Electric’s energy management system can collect and analyze parameters such as current, voltage, and power of equipment in real time. According to production tasks, it automatically adjusts the operating status of equipment to achieve energy-saving optimization. For example, in cable wire drawing equipment, when the production task is light, the system automatically reduces the motor speed to reduce energy consumption. In addition, some equipment also adopts energy-saving heating technologies. For example, the application of electromagnetic induction heating technology in plastic extruders. Through electromagnetic induction, the metal barrel heats up by itself, reducing heat loss during the heat transfer process. The heating efficiency is more than 30% higher than that of traditional resistance heating methods. At the same time, it can also heat up and cool down quickly, improving production efficiency. The application of these energy-saving technologies not only reduces the production cost of enterprises but also meets the national energy conservation and emission reduction policy requirements, providing strong support for the sustainable development of the wire and cable equipment manufacturing industry.
